The Man Who Could Move Clouds, Ingrid Contreras Rojas

The Atlas Six Olivie Blake 2 Stars One of those stories that is seemingly told entirely in interior thoughts and pointed dialogue. You don't see much of anything happening. So a lot of telling and not showing. A lot of looks interpreted as if they were fact. It may set up for an interesting series, but I can't see myself coming back for it. 1/23/23

Wild Seed Octavia E. Butler 4 Stars So far, my favorite of Butler's books that aren't just eerily prescient depictions of a political-turned-social distopia [sic]. It's also a better examination of slavery vs. a life lived freely. Less a world-building series-starter than a primer on the extremes that people can reach both in ability and emotional capacity. 1/10/23
